What the powertrain warranty covers
Ram's terms pay for the parts and labor to repair a listed powertrain part that's defective in workmanship or materials, for 10 years from the in-service date or 100,000 miles. The main groups:
- Gas engines: cylinder block and internal parts, cylinder heads, timing chain and gears, oil and water pumps, manifolds, and turbocharger or supercharger parts
- The 6.7L Cummins diesel: block and internals, heads, fuel injection pump and injectors, turbocharger housing and internals, water pump, glow plugs and all sensors
- Transmission: the case and internal parts, torque converter, transmission control module, and speed and pressure sensors
- Four-wheel drive: the transfer case with its control module and shift motor, axle housings and internals, axle shafts, driveshafts and U-joints
- ProMaster's front-wheel drive: the transaxle and its internal parts, axle shafts and CV joints
- Seals and gaskets, but only for the listed parts
What it doesn't cover
This is a powertrain warranty, not coverage for the whole truck. Everything else follows the terms in your Warranty Information booklet, and Ram's terms rule out:
- Scheduled maintenance, including oil, filters, coolant, brake pads and wiper blades
- Damage from accidents, abuse, overloading, racing, contaminated fuel, or weather such as hail and floods
- Parts that weren't on the truck when it left the plant, and repairs caused by non-FCA or performance parts
- Bodies and equipment added after the factory, such as a flatbed or dump body on a chassis cab
- Any truck with a total loss, salvage, junk or rebuilt title
- Trucks not registered in the U.S., or not driven mainly in the U.S. or Canada

Ram's terms say warranty service must be done by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram dealer and recommend the selling dealer. Bought your Ram somewhere else? Ram's own FAQ says any authorized Ram dealer can guide you through a warranty claim, and we're one.
Business trucks and the fleet exclusion
Stellantis includes retail purchases and leases by businesses but leaves out fleet purchases. If your company is buying trucks through a fleet program, ask our commercial team how the sale will be written before you sign, so you know which warranty you're getting.
Commercial Ram chassis cabs can also go to the Bud Clary Commercial Truck Center at 2715 Auburn Way N, which handles Ram warranty and recall work along with DOT inspections and medium and heavy duty repairs on every make.
Keeping your coverage
Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual and keep the receipts. Ram's terms let FCA restrict the warranty on a truck that isn't properly maintained, and in a dispute FCA can ask you to prove the maintenance was done.
The FTC notes that you don't have to use the dealer for maintenance to keep a warranty in effect, so any qualified shop can do it as long as the records exist. Diesel owners will find the Cummins schedule on our Ram diesel service page, and our service specials cover routine work.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Ram 10-year/100,000-mile warranty transferable?
No. It covers the original owner only. When the truck is sold, the next owner has powertrain coverage under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty: 5 years or 60,000 miles, or 5 years or 100,000 miles for diesel engines.
Does the 10-year powertrain warranty cover a leased Ram?
Stellantis says the offer includes retail purchases and leases to individuals and businesses. Fleet purchases are excluded.
Which Ram models get the 10-year warranty?
2026 model-year Ram 1500 (including the RHO), 2500, 3500 (including the Power Wagon), Chassis Cab 3500, 4500 and 5500, and ProMaster vans. Full battery-electric models are excluded.
Does it apply to 2025 Ram trucks?
No. Ram's terms make the coverage effective with 2026 model-year vehicles. Earlier Rams keep the coverage listed in their own warranty booklet.
Do I have to get oil changes at a Ram dealer to keep the warranty?
No. The FTC says you don't need the dealer for maintenance to keep a warranty in effect. Keep the receipts, because FCA can ask for proof. Warranty repairs themselves are done at an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram dealer.
Is the Cummins diesel covered?
Yes. On a 2026 Ram 2500, 3500 or chassis cab, the diesel engine list includes the fuel injection pump and injectors, the turbocharger, glow plugs and all sensors, plus the block, heads and internal parts.
